FritsJurgens Installation

Find all the necessary information related to the installation of a pivot hinge.

Installation in 4 steps

Installing a pivot door with consists of approximately the same four steps.

1 | Install the floor plate

FritsJurgens floor plates can be laid on only one floor type, but also on two different floor types. When mounting the floor plate, the drilling template is used to determine the location of the 8mm shafts on the bottom of the floor plate.

2 | Install the ceiling plate

The position of the ceiling tile can be easily determined using a laser pointer.

Important: This installation method applies to the 40 mm Top Hinge (TP-40) and the 70 mm Top Hinge (TP-70). The installation of your ceiling plate differs when applying the Top Reversed Hinge (TP-R) because this system mounts to the ceiling or door head instead of the top of the door.

The hole for the tube is drilled in the top of the ceiling plate, and screws can be pre-drilled. The top of the ceiling plate is covered with glue and then it can be attached to the ceiling. Finally, the plate is still fixed with screws to secure it.

3 | Assemble the door

The door can be easily positioned by first lifting the oval spindle of the System M or System M + into the notch in the floor plate. It is important that the door be installed in its open position, so the oval spindle must be turned in that direction. The Axle Wrench is a useful accessory for doing this.

After installing the door into the pavement, extend the top pivot by turning the included hex wrench into the bottom hole at the top of the door eight times (TP-40 and TP-70) or sixteen times (TP-CG).

Important: This installation method applies to the 40 mm Top Hinge (TP-40) and the 70 mm Top Hinge (TP-70). When the Reversed Top Hinge (TP-R) is applied, the spindle is rotated downward (from the top hinge on the roof or lintel of the door) toward the receiver at the top of the door - reversed.

4 | Tune the door

Both the location and movement of the door can be adjusted when System M+ or System M is applied.

  • radial position

Radial position adjustment allows the door to move 2.5 degrees forward or back so that it is flush with the wall or frame. The radial position is adjusted on the pavement plate.

  • Closing

You can now adjust the closure of your door. You can do this by accessing the top hinge through the top hole in the door.

Important: This adjustment method applies to the 40 mm Top Hinge (TP-40) and the 70 mm Top Hinge (TP-70). When the Reversed Top Hinge (TP-R) is applied, this screw is located at the bottom of the system on the door or door lintel.

Motion

Fine adjustment of the door movement is different for System M and System M+. The System M+ has two additional fine-tuning options for door movement, so this step is slightly different between these systems.

The System M has adjustable damper control, the System M+ has adjustable damper control, 30° speed control and latch control.
